Tony Russo

Anthony Russo is a professional Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. His focus is on achieving an overall elevated level of health and fitness and injury prevention by using a combination of strength and conditioning techniques with functional training. He specializes in the prevention and care of all athletic related injuries for middle and high school athletes, and in the personal training and post-rehabilitation of adults recovering from injury.

From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Russo was an Athletic Trainer with Metro Orthopedics and Sports Therapy serving Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart and assistant Athletic Trainer for the Washington Freedom Soccer Club woman's reserve team. Concurrently, from 2002 to 2006, he was a Master Trainer at Towns Sports International/Washington Sports Clubs. He was consistently on the Towns Sports International "Top 30 Trainer List" chosen from the personal trainers at Town Sports International's 144 locations throughout the East Coast.

While serving Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, Mr. Russo was in the process of developing "Proformance Athletic Training" and "The Youth, Education on Athletics and Health Program." P.A.T. is a company specializing in injury prevention, post- rehabilitation, and youth athlete training, while The Y.E.A.H. Program is an after school health and fitness program for elementary and middle school age children.

He is currently located at "The Next Level Athletic Performance Center" in Bethesda, Maryland where he is a student of Applied Functional Science mentoring David Gottfeld (M.A.T. certified specialist, Applied Functional Science specialist with Gray Institute, FMR certified). Mr. Russo's studies have led him to new and innovative methods of training and developing programs for athletes of all ages and abilities.

Over the years he has been given the honor of working with individuals such as Derek McGinty (channel 9 news anchor), Cathy Martens (President and CEO of Make a Wish Foundation), Ray McGill (University Of MD 3-time Division I All-American Lacrosse player), Team MD Hockey U-13 to U-16 Teams, Lax Factor Club U-13 and U-16 Lacrosse Teams, and more...

Anthony is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), and is certified in CPR/AED.
